Position Assistant Manager - Logistics

Department Supply Chain & Logistics

Location Bangalore - HO

Reporting To Associate Director - Supply Chain

Key Responsibilities 1. Logistics Operations

  • Plan and coordinate inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Monitor daily dispatches, delivery schedules, and order fulfilment.
  • Manage documentation including invoices, e-way bills, GRN, delivery challans, etc.
  • Track shipments and resolve delivery issues or delays.

2. Transportation & Distribution

  • Coordinate with transporters for vehicle availability, freight negotiation, and route planning.
  • Ensure optimal load planning to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
  • Oversee last-mile delivery performance.

3. Vendor & Stakeholder Management

  • Evaluate vendor performance (TAT, cost, reliability).
  • Handle escalations related to delays, damages, or discrepancies.

4. Cost Control & Compliance

  • Monitor logistics expenditure and implement measures for cost reduction.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, statutory documentation, GST and logistics policies.
  • Support internal audits related to logistics processes.

5. Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare MIS reports including freight cost, delivery performance and daily dispatch reports.
  • Analyze logistics KPIs and recommend process improvements.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of logistics, transportation and supply chain processes.
  • Good negotiation and vendor-management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Strong communication and coordination abilities.

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations or equivalent.
  • 3–6 years of experience in logistics or supply chain operations (industry-specific experience preferred).

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • On-time delivery rate.
  • Logistics cost per unit/ton.
  • Inventory accuracy and dispatch accuracy.
  • Transportation TAT.
