Senior Crypto Exchange Engineer / Architect

We are building a regulated, institutional-grade centralized cryptocurrency exchange and are looking for a highly experienced Senior Crypt Exchange Engineer / Exchange. Architect to lead the design and implementation of the platform.

This role is specifically suited for candidates who have previously built or scaled a centralized exchange offering:

• Spot trading
• OTC trading
• Fiat on/off-ramp infrastructure
• Institutional custody and settlement
• Liquidity aggregation through external providers

You should have hands-on experience integrating and operating:

• Fireblocks for wallet, custody, MPC, and transaction orchestration
• Chainalysis KYT for transaction monitoring and AML compliance
• Liquidity provider / exchange accounts with providers such as Crypt.com,
• Kraken, and similar venues
• OpenPayd or equivalent banking / fiat infrastructure

This is not a general blockchain engineering role. We are looking for someone who understands the complete architecture and operational requirements of running a centralized crypto exchange in production.

The role is strictly office-based in Sivakasi and requires full-time, on-site presence.

Key Responsibilities

Exchange Platform Architecture

• Architect and build the back-end infrastructure for a centralized crypto exchange supporting:

1. Spot trading
2. OTC trading
3. Fiat deposits and withdrawals
4. Internal transfers and settlements

• Design and implement high-performance order management and matching
• systems
• Build OTC trading workflows, RFQ processes, dealer routing, and manual /
• automated settlement logic
• Design internal ledger, accounting, reconciliation, and treasury systems
• Build customer balances, wallet movements, trade settlement, and transaction
• history infrastructure
• Develop APIs and admin systems for operations, finance, compliance, and
• support teams

Liquidity & Trading Infrastructure

• Integrate and manage liquidity provider accounts with exchanges such as:

1. Crypt.com
2. Kraken
3. Additional institutional liquidity venues

• Build routing logic for order execution across internal books and external LPs
• Design systems for best execution, liquidity aggregation, pricing, and spread
• management
• Implement exchange connectivity using REST and WebSocket APIs
• Build reconciliation and monitoring systems for LP balances, orders, fills, and
• settlements
• Support treasury movement between external exchanges and internal wallets

Custody & Wallet Infrastructure

• Design and manage wallet infrastructure using Fireblocks
• Integrate Fireblocks MPC wallets, vaults, whitelisting, transaction approval flows,
• and policy engines
• Build secure crypto deposit and withdrawal pipelines
• Support hot wallet, cold wallet, and treasury management flows
• Integrate multiple blockchain networks and asset types
• Build systems for blockchain confirmations, monitoring, indexing, and transaction reconciliation.

Compliance & Risk Systems

• Integrate Chainalysis KYT into deposit, withdrawal, and wallet monitoring
• workflows
• Build AML, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, and risk flagging
• processes
• Create automated workflows for blocked deposits, manual reviews, and
• compliance escalation
• Implement audit trails and compliance reporting capabilities
• Design systems aligned with regulated exchange and MSB requirements

Fiat & Banking Integration

• Integrate OpenPayd or equivalent provider for:

1. Virtual IBANs
2. Fiat deposits and withdrawals
3. Bank transfer reconciliation
4. Multi-currency account management

• Build fiat wallet and balance management systems
• Design reconciliation between banking infrastructure, customer balances, and crypto treasury

Scalability, Reliability & Security

• Build highly available, fault-tolerant back-end systems
• Design infrastructure capable of supporting institutional trading volumes
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational dashboards
• Ensure strong security across wallet infrastructure, APIs, authentication, and
• settlement systems
• Perform architecture reviews, security reviews, and incident response planning

Required Experience

• 7+ years of back-end, fintech, or distributed systems engineering experience
• 3+ years of direct experience building or operating a centralized crypto currency exchange
• Proven experience building exchange infrastructure that includes:

1. Spot trading
2. OTC trading
3. Wallet and custody systems
4. Liquidity provider integrations
5. Fiat banking integrations

• Prior hands-on experience with:

1. Fireblocks
2. Chainalysis KYT
3. Crypt.com institutional or exchange connectivity
4. Kraken institutional or exchange connectivity
5. OpenPayd or similar banking provider

• Experience working in regulated crypt, payments, fintech, or MSB environments

Technical Skills

• Strong back-end engineering experience in G, Rust, Java, C#, or similar languages
• Experience designing distributed systems and financial transaction platforms
• Strong knowledge of:

1. REST APIs
2. WebSocket integrations
3. Event-driven systems
4. PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka

• Understanding of:

1. Exchange order lifecycle
2. Trade settlement and reconciliation
3. Treasury operations
4. Fiat and crypto accounting

• Experience with blockchain networks, wallet infrastructure, and transaction monitoring
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, Linux, Docker, and production operations

Highly Preferred

• Previously built a centralized exchange from scratch
• Experience running institutional OTC desks or liquidity operations
• Existing knowledge of Crypt.com, Kraken, Fireblocks, Chainalysis, and OpenPayd production environments
• Experience with multi-jurisdiction compliance and AML processes
• Experience with treasury management and exchange operations
• Strong understanding of crypto market structure, liquidity, spreads, and execution
