🧭 What You'll Do

🔍 Discovery

• Conduct deep observational research to uncover jobs users need done
• Break down complex trade workflows into clean, scalable process maps
• Identify pain points and high-leverage "aha" moments

🎯 Betting & Prioritization

• Collaborate with Product, Sales, and CS to prioritise what's most impactful
• Build strategic product bets that push metrics for both users and the business

✍️ Shaping & Pitching

• Develop rough solution sketches and user flows
• Write compelling product pitches (our version of a PRD) based on value props
• Structure your PRDs as skills for AI Agents understand and evaluate them better for you

🤖 AI Prototyping

• Use AI-assisted tools (Claude, Cursor, v0, etc.) to rapidly prototype multiple solution directions before committing engineering time
• Build low-fidelity but functionally realistic prototypes—interactive flows, mocked APIs, simulated agent behaviors—to pressure-test ideas with real users early
• Run structured prototype sprints: ideate multiple approaches, timebox builds, and surface trade-offs fast
• Treat prototypes as learning instruments, not deliverables—know when to kill one and when to go deeper

🔪 Deciding What to Build and What to Kill

• Design evaluation frameworks to assess prototype performance across dimensions: user comprehension, task completion, error recovery, and delight
• Run lightweight usability sessions and qualitative evals to compare competing prototypes against clear success criteria
• Score prototypes on a structured rubric—value delivered, implementation complexity, user confidence, and alignment with product bets
• Synthesize eval findings into a shortlist recommendation with clear rationale for what to build and what to set aside

⚙️ Shaping, Speccing & Building

• Translate winning prototypes into detailed, engineer-ready product specs: precise user flows, edge case handling, state definitions, error states, and acceptance criteria
• Write specs that bridge the "why" (the job to be done) with the "what" (the exact behavior expected)—leaving no room for ambiguity at implementation time
• Include annotated wireframes or prototype references, data contracts, and dependency callouts
• Partner with engineers and designers to build thoughtful, iterative solutions from a spec that evolves as unknowns surface
• Own sprint planning and product execution; break down scope into smart, agile iterations

🚀 Launching

• Coordinate cross-functional go-to-market efforts with CS and Marketing
• Track adoption, feedback, and support post-launch
• Use real data and user signals to inform continuous improvements
