Why This Role Matters

As Manager – Legal, you'll serve as the strategic legal partner for GoKwik's fintech and commerce products, helping shape innovative solutions while ensuring regulatory compliance from concept to launch. You'll work closely with Product, Engineering, Compliance, and Business teams to navigate evolving regulatory frameworks, mitigate legal risks, and enable the business to build customer-centric products with speed and confidence.

What You'll Own

Product & Regulatory Advisory

• Serve as the primary legal advisor for GoKwik's fintech products, including payment aggregation, digital lending, prepaid instruments, and other regulated financial products.
• Partner with Product and Business teams on product structuring, customer journeys, feature development, and go-to-market initiatives.
• Advise stakeholders on RBI regulations, Digital Lending Guidelines, Payment Aggregator Guidelines, KYC/AML requirements, outsourcing norms, consumer protection, and data privacy laws.
• Assess legal implications of new business models, strategic partnerships, and technology integrations.
• Enable compliant product launches while balancing innovation, customer experience, and regulatory risk.
• Monitor regulatory developments and proactively advise leadership on business impact and implementation strategies.
• Support industry representations, advocacy papers, and regulatory submissions with industry bodies and regulators.
  
  

Commercial Contracts

• Lead the drafting, negotiation, review, and execution of complex commercial agreements across the fintech ecosystem.
• Manage agreements with banks, NBFCs, payment partners, technology vendors, merchants, enterprise customers, and strategic partners.
• Develop scalable contract templates, negotiation playbooks, and approval frameworks.
• Support strategic partnerships, product integrations, and market expansion initiatives.
  
  

Data Privacy & Compliance

• Lead implementation of the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) framework across products and business functions.
• Draft and review privacy policies, data processing agreements, and contractual safeguards.
• Support legal reviews, regulatory submissions, audits, investigations, and dispute management.
  
  

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Compliance, Finance, Operations, and Business teams to drive strategic initiatives.
• Improve legal operations through process optimization, automation, and contract lifecycle management.
• Leverage AI tools to improve legal workflows, documentation, and operational efficiency.
  
  

Who Are You

• 5–8 years of experience in Product Legal, Fintech, Banking, or Digital Financial Services.
• Strong understanding of RBI regulations, Payment Aggregator Guidelines, Digital Lending Guidelines, DLG framework, KYC/AML requirements, and the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act.
• Proven expertise in commercial contract drafting, negotiation, and legal advisory.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to translate complex legal issues into practical business guidance.
• Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to balance legal risk with commercial objectives in a fast-paced, high-growth technology environment.
• Comfortable leveraging AI tools to improve legal operations, contract management, and day-to-day workflows.
