Account Manager – Commercial Lines Insurance

(New Business, Renewals & Client Portfolio Management)



Job Purpose

The Account Manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of commercial clients, handling new business opportunities, renewals, and long-term client relationships while ensuring revenue growth and high retention.


Key Responsibilities


Portfolio Management

  • Manage assigned commercial client portfolio
  • Act as the primary relationship manager for corporate clients
  • Conduct regular client reviews and risk assessments


New Business Growth

  • Identify opportunities within existing clients
  • Handle inbound and referred new business leads
  • Work with insurers to structure competitive solutions
  • Drive cross-sell of multiple lines, not limited to:
  • Property
  • Liability
  • Marine
  • Engineering
  • SME Packages


Renewals & Retention

  • Manage renewal cycle for entire portfolio
  • Negotiate improved terms with insurers
  • Maintain strong client retention levels
  • Identify coverage gaps and recommend improvements


Client Advisory Role

  • Provide risk advisory and insurance recommendations
  • Assist clients with claims coordination (when required)
  • Ensure proactive service and relationship management


Internal Coordination

  • Work closely with internals team for finance, claims, compliance and quality
  • Maintain CRM updates and pipeline tracking
  • Monitor receivables and payment follow-ups

Requirements

Experience

  • 3–5 years commercial insurance experience
  • Strong knowledge of UAE commercial insurance market
  • Experience managing corporate & individual clients


Skills

  • Relationship management expertise
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Technical commercial insurance knowledge
  • Strong presentation and advisory skills


Education

  • Bachelor's Degree (Insurance, Business, Finance preferred)
