Role Overview
We are looking for a seasoned and result-driven Sales Manager with a General Insurance broking background to lead and scale our Corporate Insurance business in Mumbai, Bangalore and Hyderabad. This role requires a strong leader with proven experience in driving revenue growth, managing large teams, and handling end-to-end insurance portfolios across corporate clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong business pipeline, leadership exposure, and deep expertise across commercial insurance products.
Key Responsibilities
• Drive overall revenue growth and business targets for the corporate insurance vertical for the assigned region. Manage and expand current portfolio, ensuring consistent business performance.
• Build and maintain a strong pipeline of corporate clients and large accounts. Lead acquisition of new corporate clients and strengthen existing relationships with CXOs and decision-makers.
• Oversee end-to-end sales lifecycle, including pitching, deal structuring, and closure.
• Manage and lead cross-functional teams, including Relationship Managers, Underwriters, Claims, and Operations.
• Build, mentor, and drive performance of the sales team through clear targets and accountability frameworks. Align regular monitoring of targets.
• Develop and implement sales strategies, expansion plans, and go-to-market approaches.
• Drive business across commercial insurance products including GMC, Fire, Marine, Liability, Surety Bonds, etc.
• Collaborate with insurers and internal teams for effective underwriting, pricing, and policy placement. Strong relations with underwriters for exclusive price and terms.
• Monitor key performance metrics and drive process improvements and operational efficiency of team.
• Identify new market opportunities and contribute to business growth and diversification.
• Represent the organization in client meetings, industry forums, and strategic discussions.
What We're Looking For
• Background: Minimum 10+ years of experience in General Insurance broking or corporate insurance sales (Life Insurance / Bancassurance / retail Health-only backgrounds will not be considered).
• Broking experience: Prior experience working with an insurance broking firm is mandatory — insurer-only or bancassurance-channel experience does not meet this requirement.
• Team management: Strong experience managing teams of Relationship Managers, including Underwriting and Claims functions.
• Product knowledge: Deep understanding of commercial insurance products (GMC, Fire, Marine, Liability, Surety Bonds, etc.).
• Network: Strong network with corporate clients and decision-makers.
- Skills: Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
