Job Title: VP – Factory Operations, Growth & Business Development

Location: Surat, Gujarat

About the Role

We are looking for a dynamic and entrepreneurial VP – Factory Operations, Growth & Business Development to lead end-to-end factory operations, profitability, client satisfaction, business development, and expansion. This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who can drive execution, build systems, improve margins, bring new business, and scale operations into a larger high-performing manufacturing platform.

This role is ideal for an entrepreneurial leader who thinks like an owner, not just an employee.


Key Responsibilities


Factory & P&L Ownership

  • Lead complete factory operations with accountability for revenue, profitability, client satisfaction, and overall performance
  • Drive EBITDA / PAT improvement through operational excellence and cost controls
  • Manage budgets, productivity, and resource utilization


Business Development & Revenue Growth

  • Develop and grow business opportunities
  • Acquire new clients in private label, FOB, etc.
  • Build strong long-term client relationships and ensure high service standards
  • Increase order book value and improve business mix
  • Support pricing strategy, costing, and commercial negotiations


Client Satisfaction & Key Account Management

  • Ensure excellent service levels, communication, and delivery reliability for all clients
  • Maintain strong relationships with key customers, buying houses, and brands
  • Resolve escalations quickly and professionally
  • Improve repeat business and long-term retention


Production & Operational Excellence

  • Improve production efficiency, output, and line balancing
  • Ensure machine utilization, manpower productivity, and minimal downtime
  • Implement SOPs, MIS dashboards, and operational controls
  • Implement proper reporting structure


Quality & Delivery

  • Ensure strong quality standards with low rejection / rework levels
  • Maintain on-time delivery performance and customer satisfaction
  • Improve planning accuracy and execution timelines


Team Leadership

  • Build and lead strong teams across production, merchandising, quality, planning, and business development
  • Hire, train, and develop second-line leadership
  • Drive accountability, discipline, and performance culture


Growth & Expansion

  • Lead expansion roadmap from current capacity to future scale
  • Set up new lines, categories, and manufacturing capabilities
  • Support strategic partnerships and growth initiatives


Working Capital & Commercial Discipline

  • Improve inventory turns, reduce dead stock, and optimize working capital
  • Coordinate with sourcing, finance, and sales teams for smooth execution and collections


Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 10+ years’ experience in garment / textile / apparel manufacturing leadership roles
  • Proven experience in both factory management and business development
  • Strong track record in client handling and customer retention
  • Strong network with brands, exporters, buying houses, or institutional customers
  • Strong understanding of production, costing, quality, planning, and factory finance
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with ownership attitude
  • Strong people leadership and execution capability
  • Comfortable working in a fast-growth environment
