The Manufacturing/production Shop/Plant Operations Trainee is responsible for operating machinery, assembling & testing products, and ensuring smooth production processes on the shop floor. This role involves maintaining quality standards, adhering to safety protocols, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
As a Shop/Plant Operations Trainee, you will also be responsible for:
- Operating and monitoring production machines and equipment according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Performing assembly, testing, packaging, and material handling tasks as required.
- Inspecting products for quality and report any defects or deviations.
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the work area in compliance with 5S principles.
- Following all safety guidelines and use personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Recording production data and maintain accurate documentation.
- Assisting in troubleshooting minor machine issues and escalate major problems to maintenance.
- Supporting continuous improvement activities to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have a diploma in Mechanical engineering/ Electrical engineering / Instrumentation engineering
- Have 0-2 years in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Have a basic mechanical aptitude and ability to operate machines.
- Hae an understanding of safety and quality standards.
- Have an ability to read and follow work instructions.
- Have a good communication and teamwork skills.
