Job Description

Job Role and Key Responsibilities

  1. Identification and selection of potential partners to develop strategic alliances and expand portfolio in EMENA
  2. Negotiation of offers and agreements to get commercial rights on third parties’ developments
  3. Assess the financial value of opportunities elaborating business cases in a software platform with market insights coming from country managers and contrasting them with own judgement about price trend and volumes’ share. Propose viability estimating NPV, IRR analysis.
  4. Present Business case to the Senior Management, bearing in mind the risk of third parties’ right infraction and an appropriate regulatory strategy supporting the propose launch calendar.
  5. Ensuring timely execution of project and launch, by tracking partner’s activity till launch of the product, aiming to identify bottlenecks, suggest solutions and make sure that necessary actions are taken inside and outside of the company. Working close with cross functions and supporting them when issues arise, to avoid delay in the calendar
  6. Performing due diligence for prospective M&A activities involving in-depth portfolio and financial analysis. Preparing presentation for the stakeholders with comprehensive overview of the project, highlighting synergies and in-depth analysis, to facilitate decision marking
  7. Arrange conference calls and meetings with existing and potential partners
  8. Maintain a database gathering business opportunities, partners and development status of ongoing licensing projects
  9. Participate in regular meetings with the licensing team to revise in the department activities progress and priorities for molecules to in license/acquire, or propose for development as the case maybe
  10. Update in-licensing tracker with any new agreement signed and also maintain milestones’ payments records for Capex budget’s monthly update
  11. Prepare a yearly budget for licensing milestone payments and present it internally to Director of Licensing
  12. Regularly check competitiveness of cost of goods to renegotiate them when required, for the launch and for replenishment purchase orders
  13. Arrange personal meetings with affiliates, partners/potential licensors at least once a year
  14. Participate in one European licensing meetings (EuroPlx, etc) or CPHI WW to maximize networking


Person Specification

  • Experience in a similar role within a pharmaceutical company
  • Demonstrable experience in project management – able to manage several projects simultaneously
  • Experience working with cross functional teams in an international setting
  • Desire to learn and explore business opportunities
  • Exceptional negotiation and influencing skills
  • Strong communication skills, fluent in English
  • Good business acumen and analytical skills
