Senior DevOps Engineer

We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer with 6+ years of overall IT experience, including at least 2 years dedicated to DevOps (ideally within a software product company). In this critical role, you will shape our cloud strategy and build the solid disaster-recovery enabled infrastructure powering our retail industry solutions.

Responsibilities

• Pipeline & Deployment: Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for products. Perform planned deployments using a Blue-Green strategy with zero downtime and deploy emergency hotfixes as required.
• Infrastructure & Maintenance: Perform routine security patching of the OS, VMs, and other software components. Perform automatic backup and restore of production databases.
• Monitoring & Reliability: Build effective monitoring and alerts for both production and non-production deployments.
• Disaster Recovery: Ensure the Disaster Recovery Plan is up-to-date and orchestrate periodic DR testing.
• Best Practices: Use DevOps best practices for building, deploying, and monitoring in a cost-effective manner.
• Execution: Take ownership of tasks, execute them efficiently, and collaborate effectively with a distributed, cross-functional team.

Primary Skills & Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of DevOps experience (preferably in a software product company).
• Familiarity with the retail industry/domain is a MUST.
• CI/CD & SCM: Knowledge of Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or Bitbucket Pipelines. Excellent command over Source Configuration Management tools (GitHub, Bitbucket, GitLab, etc.).
• Containerization: Knowledge of Docker and container orchestration using Kubernetes.
• Security & Infrastructure: Exposure to maintaining infrastructure in a multi-data center setup. Exposure to security hardening of computing/networking infrastructure and best practices (CIS benchmarks, IDS, IPS, Antivirus, Security patching, Network configuration).
• Code Quality: Knowledge of SonarQube or similar tools for static code scanning.
• Core Capabilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, alongside excellent communication and documentation skills.

Educational Qualifications

Graduate or Postgraduate in Engineering / Computer Applications.
