Company Description Patna Metro Rail Project, led by Patna Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (PMRCL), is developing a modern Mass Rapid Transit System to transform urban mobility in Bihar’s capital. Phase 1 includes two key corridors—the Red Line (East–West) and the Blue Line (North–South)—combining elevated and underground sections to connect major residential, commercial, and transit hubs. Backed by a strong financial and technical framework, the project features broad-gauge tracks, 25 kV AC electrification, and advanced CBTC signaling to support efficient, high-speed operations and a projected daily ridership of over 210,000 commuters. Multiple leading national and international partners are involved in planning, construction, and systems integration, ensuring high standards of safety, reliability, and passenger comfort. The priority stretch of the Blue Line is approaching operational readiness with modern depots, centralized control, and well-equipped stations designed for safe, accessible travel.
Role Description The Safety Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based in Patna, responsible for overseeing safety practices across construction, operations, and maintenance activities within the Patna Metro Rail Project. The role includes monitoring work sites, conducting routine safety inspections, and ensuring compliance with applicable safety regulations, standards, and project-specific guidelines. The Safety Supervisor will deliver safety briefings and toolbox talks, support safety training programs, and promote a strong safety culture among all on-site personnel and contractors. Daily tasks also involve identifying hazards, recommending corrective actions, documenting incidents and near-misses, and assisting with accident investigations and root cause analysis. The role collaborates closely with engineering, operations, and contractor teams to implement preventive measures, maintain emergency preparedness, and continuously improve safety performance.
Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise in Health & Safety and Occupational Health, with the ability to apply relevant regulations and standards in a large infrastructure or rail project environment.
  • Strong background in Safety Engineering, including risk assessment, hazard identification, and implementation of control measures for construction and operational activities.
  • Experience in Safety Training, including delivering safety orientations, toolbox talks, and refresher programs for diverse site teams and contractors.
  • Practical skills in Accident Investigation, including incident reporting, root cause analysis, and recommending corrective and preventive actions.
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in engineering, safety management, occupational health, or a related discipline; professional safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent) are highly beneficial.
  • Familiarity with metro rail or large infrastructure project safety requirements, emergency response procedures, and permit-to-work systems.
