The Research Analyst / Associate – Polymer Price Assessment will be responsible for collecting, validating, and analysing daily market prices and developments across the polymer value chain. The role involves close coordination with industry stakeholders to gather reliable market data and contribute to price assessments, market intelligence, and industry insights across key polymer segments.

The Research Analyst / Associate – Polymer Price Assessment will be responsible for collecting, validating, and analysing daily market prices and developments across the polymer value chain. The role involves close coordination with industry stakeholders to gather reliable market data and contribute to price assessments, market intelligence, and industry insights across key polymer segments.
Key Responsibilities Daily Market Coverage
- Collect verified daily price updates across polymer segments including PET, HDPE, PP, LDPE, LLDPE, PVC, and other key polymers, covering raw materials, intermediates, and finished grades.
- Track daily market movements, spot deals, bids/offers, producer announcements, and price revisions across domestic and international markets.
- Monitor demand trends across key end-use industries such as beverage, FMCG, textiles, packaging, automotive, construction, and consumer goods.
- Validate market information through multiple sources to ensure pricing accuracy, reliability, and consistency.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with polymer manufacturers, converters, traders, distributors, processors, importers, exporters, and end-users.
- Expand and strengthen a network of reliable market participants across India and global polymer markets.
- Maintain regular communication channels with industry stakeholders to capture real-time market developments and pricing intelligence.
- Identify and onboard new contributors and data points to strengthen regional and product-wise market coverage.
- Prepare daily price sheets, market movement summaries, and price trend updates.
- Analyse pricing trends, market movements, and key demand-supply drivers impacting polymer markets.
- Track feedstock and upstream influences such as PTA, MEG, crude oil, naphtha, ethylene, propylene, and import/export movements.
- Monitor global polymer supply chain developments and assess their impact on domestic market pricing and availability.
- Support development of price benchmarks, methodology improvements, and market commentary through continuous market engagement.
- Develop and maintain a structured database of price providers categorized by region, polymer type, application segment, and reliability.
- Maintain contact history, price logs, verification records, and historical price movement data for internal tracking and audit purposes.
- Ensure timely updating of market dashboards, trackers, and pricing databases with high accuracy.
- Produce daily, weekly, and monthly polymer price assessment reports and market updates.
- Support development of market intelligence reports, analytical articles, presentations, sector briefs, and client deliverables.
- Ensure timely delivery of accurate, verified, and actionable market data and insights.
- Support internal teams and clients by responding to market-related queries with data-backed analysis and interpretation.

- Candidates with internships or early experience in market research, commodity analysis, business research, pricing, procurement, or polymer/petrochemical sales support.
- Professionals with an interest in commodity markets, price tracking, industry research, and market intelligence.
Suitable Candidates May Include:
- Professionals currently working in polymer procurement, raw material sourcing, or commercial roles in plastics, packaging, FMCG, textile, chemical, or manufacturing companies.
- Candidates from B2B sales of polymers, petrochemicals, plastic raw materials, packaging materials, or industrial chemicals.
- Professionals involved in primary market research, commodity research, price reporting, or market intelligence within the polymer or petrochemical industry.
- Candidates with hands-on experience conducting primary research by interacting with manufacturers, converters, traders, distributors, processors, importers, and exporters to gather pricing and market intelligence.
- Individuals working in polymer trading, distribution, supply chain, sourcing, or market analysis roles.
- Professionals experienced in collecting, validating, and analysing pricing data, preparing market reports, and tracking polymer demand-supply trends.
- Strong analytical and research skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, networking, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to interpret market signals and translate raw data into meaningful insights.
- Strong report writing and market interpretation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and reporting tools.
- Ability to manage large datasets, pricing information, and market intelligence trackers.
- Prior exposure to polymers, petrochemicals, plastics, packaging, commodities, or market research is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Business, Polymer Science, Chemistry, Petrochemicals, or a related field.
- 0–3 years of experience for Associate-level roles.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience for Analyst-level roles.
- Good understanding of the polymer value chain, pricing mechanisms, feedstock linkages, and market dynamics will be an added advantage.
