Summary:


The primary role of the Quality Manager is to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and guidelines, internal quality, food safety standards and policies.


Primary Responsibilities:


The duties for this position include but are not limited to the following:


  • Create, implement and monitor quality assurance programs and oversee the Sanitation Program.
  • Perform as the primary SQF Practitioner and HACCP leader for TFPO.
  • Oversee, be involved and communicate the implementation, review and maintenance of corporate policies and programs in accordance with current SQF Code to ensure product safety, legality, regulatory compliance and quality.
  • Implement company guidelines for quality programs and standards that meet or exceed customer requirements.
  • Monitor and improve quality systems to ensure products manufactured are within State Federal regulations and clients’ expectations.
  • Monitor facility and ensure all standards and processing parameters are maintained.
  • Utilize knowledge and experience to make the final decision on product or process acceptability.
  • Work with Sales, R&D, Production, and directly with customers to define and improve product specifications.
  • Communicate and enforce TFPO standards in different areas: ingredient and product standards, process specifications, formula compliance, sanitation/GMP/pest control, and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee Quality Control functions and Quality Technicians
  • Troubleshoot laboratory equipment and issues
  • Proactively offer solutions to issues noted during operations/gmp inspections
  • Manage the certification programs and third-party audits (Kosher, AIB, BRC).
  • Primary contact for GFCO
  • Provide technical support and direction to the plant to address process improvements.


  • Enforce and oversee the administration of Good Manufacturing Practices, HACCP, and local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Perform annual reviews of subordinate employees.


Qualifications:


To be eligible for this position, candidates should meet the following requirements:


  • BS in Food Science or equivalent
  • 3 - 5 years of current work experience in a quality function within a food or beverage manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of and practical experience with HACCP, GMPs, and regulatory requirements
  • Decisive, practical and analytical ability to solve day-to-day food safety and quality problems
  • Able to multitask and manage a team of Quality Technicians
  • Must have attained proper certifications to operate and oversee a food manufacturing facility in state of California
  • Ability to work closely with all departments to ensure consistent product and to meet the production schedules
  • Perform duties using effective communication skills and other duties as assigned.
