Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai for a Final Inspector/Road Tester with dealership experience. The role involves conducting comprehensive final inspections of vehicles before delivery, verifying that all mechanical, electrical, and safety systems meet dealership and manufacturer standards. The Final Inspector/Road Tester will perform controlled road tests to assess performance, handling, braking, and overall drivability, documenting findings and coordinating with service technicians to address any issues. Daily tasks include reviewing job cards, checking completion of repair and maintenance work, ensuring adherence to quality control procedures, and confirming that vehicles are clean and ready for customer handover. The role also requires clear communication with service advisors and workshop teams, adherence to safety protocols, and accurate reporting of inspection and test results.
Qualifications

  • Strong technical knowledge of passenger cars, including mechanical, electrical, and safety systems, gained through dealership or workshop experience.
  • Experience in final vehicle inspection, road testing procedures, and quality control within an authorized dealership environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret job cards, service reports, and manufacturer guidelines, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication skills to coordinate with service advisors, technicians, and other workshop staff.
  • Valid driving license with confident and safe driving skills across different vehicle models and conditions.
  • Understanding of automotive safety standards, compliance requirements, and workshop best practices.
  • Ability to work on-site in a fast-paced service environment, managing time effectively and prioritizing inspections.
  • Diploma or certification in Automobile Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a Škoda or Tata dealership, or similar OEM-authorized service center, will be an advantage.
