Leather Fair is seeking a dedicated Production Manager to oversee the entire production process and ensure smooth manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have 5 years of experience in production or manufacturing management and possess strong leadership skills to manage a team of 5 personnel effectively. This role requires in-depth knowledge of production planning, quality control, supply chain management, and inventory management, along with the ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives. The Production Manager plays a critical role in coordinating production schedules, optimizing resources, and maintaining high safety and quality standards to meet production deadlines and company goals.

The Production Manager at Leather Fair must demonstrate excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills while working under pressure to deliver results. This position demands strong communication and organizational abilities to align cross-functional functions and ensure all production activities adhere to established processes and compliance requirements. Experience with Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRPII), and effective production scheduling is essential to enhance operational efficiency and product quality in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement detailed production plans to meet company targets and customer demand while optimizing resource utilization.
• Manage and lead a team of 5 production staff, providing direction, training, and performance evaluations to build a skilled and motivated workforce.
• Monitor and control production processes to ensure compliance with quality standards and safety regulations, promptly addressing any deviations or issues.
• Coordinate with supply chain and inventory management teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials and efficient stock control.
• Oversee quality control measures throughout the production cycle to maintain product excellence and minimize defects or rework.
• Analyze production data and metrics to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for continuous process improvement.
• Implement and maintain Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRPII) systems to streamline production scheduling and resource allocation.
• Ensure all production activities comply with company policies, health and safety standards, and environmental regulations.
• Communicate effectively across departments to synchronize production schedules with procurement, logistics, and customer service functions.
• Manage production-related budgets and resources, analyzing costs to ensure efficient use and suggest cost-saving initiatives.
• Respond quickly and decisively to production delays, equipment failures, or other challenges to minimize downtime and meet deadlines.
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement through lean manufacturing principles and encourage innovative solutions to production challenges.
• Prepare regular reports on production performance, quality metrics, and team productivity for senior management review.
• Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to enhance manufacturing processes and maintain competitive advantage.
