Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Land Acquisition Expert role based in Ahmedabad. The Land Acquisition Expert will identify, evaluate, and secure land parcels that align with project and client requirements across transportation infrastructure initiatives. Daily responsibilities include conducting site visits, coordinating surveys, assessing legal and regulatory aspects, and performing due diligence to confirm clear titles and compliance. The role involves collaborating with internal technical teams, local authorities, landowners, and legal advisors to negotiate terms, resolve issues, and ensure timely acquisition. The Land Acquisition Expert will maintain detailed documentation, track progress of acquisition activities, support land development planning, and provide regular status reports to project leaders and client stakeholders.

4) PROFICIENT IN AUTOCAD, GIS, MS EXCEL & WORD.
Job Summary
The Land Acquisition Expert will be responsible for planning, managing, and executing all land acquisition activities for highway and road infrastructure projects in Gujarat & other States. The role involves coordination with government authorities (GSRDC. R&B, NHAI etc.), revenue departments, legal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure timely acquisition of land in compliance with applicable laws, policies, and project requirements.
The candidate should possess extensive knowledge of land acquisition procedures, revenue records, compensation assessment, statutory approvals, stakeholder consultations, and rehabilitation & resettlement (R&R) requirements under relevant national and state regulations.
Required Experience
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in land acquisition for highway, expressway, road, railway, metro, or other linear infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience in handling government-driven land acquisition processes.
- Experience working on NHAI, MoRTH, State Authorities (GSRDC, R&B etc.), Expressway, or PPP infrastructure projects preferred.
- Familiarity with land acquisition notifications, compensation awards, and R&R implementation.
- Experience in dealing with district collectors, revenue officials, and government agencies.
Technical Skills
· Strong knowledge of RFCTLARR Act, 2013 and National Highways Act.
· Understanding of revenue records, cadastral surveys, and GIS-based land management systems.
· Knowledge of compensation assessment and valuation procedures.
· Proficiency in AUTOCAD, MS Office, Excel, GIS applications (added advantage)
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Rural Development, Geography, Law, Land Management, Planning, Social Sciences, or Graduate / Diploma in related discipline.
- Certification/training in Land Acquisition, Revenue Administration, or R&R will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
Land Acquisition Planning & Execution
- Develop and implement land acquisition strategies for highway projects.
- Coordinate with district administration, revenue authorities, and government agencies for timely acquisition of required land parcels.
- Prepare land acquisition schedules aligned with project timelines.
- Track acquisition progress and identify risks affecting project delivery.
Statutory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with:
- Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act (RFCTLARR), 2013.
- National Highways Act, 1956.
- State-specific land acquisition regulations and policies.
- Support obtaining statutory approvals and notifications under relevant provisions.
Revenue and Land Record Management
- Verify land ownership documents, title records, mutation entries, and cadastral maps.
- Collection & Review of village maps, survey records, and revenue documentation.
- Coordinate land surveys and joint measurements.
- Resolve discrepancies in land records through coordination with authorities.
Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with landowners, local communities, village representatives, and affected persons.
- Conduct public consultations and stakeholder meetings.
- Address grievances related to compensation, ownership, and acquisition processes.
- Maintain positive relationships with local government officials and stakeholders.
Compensation & R&R Support
- Assist in valuation and compensation assessment processes.
- Coordinate preparation and verification of compensation awards.
- Support implementation of Rehabilitation and Resettlement (R&R) plans.
- Monitor disbursement of compensation and compliance with approved policies.
Legal Coordination
- Coordinate with legal consultants regarding land disputes, court cases, and arbitration matters.
- Review legal documentation associated with land acquisition.
- Assist in resolving title disputes and ownership claims.
Monitoring & Reporting
- Maintain databases of acquired land, compensation status, and pending cases.
- Present progress updates to project management and clients
Coordination with Project Teams
- Work closely with engineering, survey, environmental, and social safeguard teams.
- Support due diligence activities during project planning and execution.
