Job Title: IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) Coordinator

Location: Bangalore, India

Reports To: Principal / Academic Head

Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

The IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) Coordinator is responsible for the successful implementation, management, and continuous development of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme within the school. The Coordinator serves as the academic and administrative leader of the IBDP, ensuring compliance with International Baccalaureate (IB) standards and practices while fostering academic excellence, student achievement, and holistic development.

The role requires close collaboration with school leadership, teachers, students, parents, and the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) to maintain the integrity and quality of the Diploma Programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all aspects of the IB Diploma Programme.
  • Ensure effective implementation of IB standards, practices, and programme requirements.
  • Guide teachers in curriculum planning, delivery, and assessment practices aligned with IB requirements.
  • Ensure consistency and quality across all DP subject groups.
  • Monitor academic progress and student performance across the programme.
  • Coordinate the scheduling and delivery of Theory of Knowledge (TOK), Extended Essay (EE), and Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS).
  • Promote interdisciplinary learning and inquiry-based teaching practices.
  • Manage all internal and external IB assessment processes.
  • Oversee examination registration, administration, and compliance procedures.
  • Support and mentor DP teachers in implementing IB pedagogy and assessment practices.
  • Conduct parent orientation programmes and information sessions.
  • Communicate programme expectations, deadlines, and updates to students and families.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Education or a relevant academic discipline.
  • Recognized teaching qualification (B.Ed., PGCE, or equivalent).
  • Minimum 10 years of teaching experience within the IB Diploma Programme.
  • Prior 3+ years of experience as an IBDP Coordinator, Head of Department, or similar leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of IB Diploma Programme standards, practices, assessments, and core components (TOK, EE, CAS).
