Role Description The Head Waiter role at Cafe Dali is a full-time, on-site position based in Delhi, India. The Head Waiter oversees the dining area, coordinates the waiting staff, and ensures guests receive prompt, courteous, and efficient service throughout their visit. Daily responsibilities include greeting and seating guests, managing table assignments, taking and reviewing orders, and liaising with the kitchen to ensure accurate and timely service. The role involves supervising service standards, training new team members, resolving guest concerns, and supporting the smooth operation of busy service periods. The Head Waiter also helps maintain cleanliness and presentation of the dining area and contributes to upselling menu items to enhance the guest experience and cafe revenue.


Qualifications

  • Strong customer service skills, with the ability to manage guest interactions and resolve issues professionally.
  • Knowledge of food & beverage offerings and food service procedures, with an understanding of menu items and basic service protocols.
  • Effective communication skills for coordinating with guests, waiting staff, and kitchen team members.
  • Basic cooking knowledge or familiarity with kitchen operations is beneficial for coordinating orders and service timing.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or senior waiter role in a Five star hotel or fine dinning restaurant.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the capacity to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional appearance and adherence to hygiene and safety standards.
