Role Description The Assistant will support day-to-day operations of the newsroom and office, including coordinating schedules, managing correspondence, and maintaining documentation for editorial and administrative activities. This role will assist with basic research tasks, organize files and records, prepare simple reports, and help ensure smooth communication among editorial, finance, and management teams. The Assistant will also handle office logistics, such as arranging meetings, tracking tasks, and supporting event or visit coordination. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Surat, requiring consistent presence and collaboration with the local team.

Qualifications
  • Ability to manage schedules, coordinate meetings, and handle administrative tasks with attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills for maintaining records, documentation, and basic reporting.
  • Proficient in common office software (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, email, and online collaboration tools).
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of additional regional languages is an advantage.
  • Capacity to conduct basic research and compile information to support editorial or operational needs.
  • Demonstrated reliability, time management, and ability to work in a structured, deadline-driven environment.
  • Interest in news, public affairs, and current events, particularly from an India-first perspective.
  • Prior experience in an administrative, coordination, or assistant role is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Minimum educational qualification: completion of secondary education; a diploma or degree in any discipline is beneficial.
