Head Start Teacher

This position is responsible for assisting with the comprehensive classroom activities of the Head Start program and managing the before-and-after Head Start hours; it works closely with the other classroom staff to ensure the emotional, physical, and intellectual needs of children are met in accordance with Head Start Program guidelines.

Assists with the planning and coordination of daily activities for the Head Start classrooms and manages those activities for the before-and-after Head Start program hours;

In conjunction with the other classroom teachers, develops and implements the Individual Development and Planning reports (IDP’S) for children in coordination with parental input and attends meetings to communicate and track IDP progress;

works in conjunction with the other classroom staff, Education Supervisor and Family and Health advocates to ensure participant growth and goals established in the Progress and Planning Reports;

develops and maintains eligible volunteer participation in Head Start activities;

accurately tracks “in kind” donations and monitors timely receipts; and

maintains a safe and clean program environment to meet compliance with Head Start regulations.
