Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Geography Educator role for IGCSE Board, teaching Grades 6–9, based in Rajkot. The Geography Educator will plan and deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons that develop learners’ understanding of physical and human geography, global issues, and environmental awareness. Responsibilities include preparing lesson plans and teaching materials, assessing student progress, providing constructive feedback, and maintaining accurate records of performance. The educator will facilitate interactive classroom activities, projects, and field-based learning where appropriate, and collaborate with colleagues to support interdisciplinary learning and school initiatives. Additional tasks include participating in staff meetings, professional development, parent interactions, and contributing to a positive, inclusive school culture.
Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess strong Teaching and Training skills, with experience in facilitating learning for Grades 6–9, ideally within the IGCSE curriculum.
  • Candidates should possess solid Lesson Planning abilities and Education-related expertise, including curriculum understanding and assessment practices in geography.
  • Candidates should possess clear and effective Communication skills, enabling constructive interaction with learners, colleagues, and parents.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geography, Education, or a related field preferred; formal teacher training or certification is an advantage.
  • Experience teaching IGCSE or similar international curricula, and familiarity with student-centered and activity-based learning methodologies, is beneficial.
  • Comfort with classroom technology, digital resources, and basic reporting tools, along with strong classroom management and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive, gender-neutral, and non-discriminatory teaching practices, and readiness to engage in continuous professional development.
