Equity Research Associate

Key Responsibilities:

1. Report writing - Initiations, Quarterly, Sector thematic and event specific. Full-fledged detailed report about a company. The report includes analysis about the company's business model, its historical and expected financial performance. Also, includes analysis about the industry in which the company operates
2. Participation and contribution to daily morning meetings.
3. Excel Modelling - Annual / quarterly update, forecasts, valuation
4. Data gathering, spreadsheet support by way of timely updating of spreadsheets/graphs/background information and report production
5. Stock ideation. Giving stock ideas to analyst for pitching to clients. Essentially help Lead Analyst to identify stocks that provide good trades and have alpha opportunities
6. Client requests handling - reports/models/specific analysis/corporate access
7. Associate client calling - if applicable. i.e. if an associate has been assigned clients for calling
8. Individual coverage ramp-up. Apart from supporting lead analyst, the associate may also be allowed to gradually increase his own individual stock coverage

Eligibility:

• Essential Education Qualifications – MBA in Finance (IIM A, IIM B, IIM C and IIM L) / CA (Rank Holders), CFA
• Relevant Experience – 1+ to 3 years
• Title: Associate / Senior Associate
• Background – Equity Research (Across Sectors)

Skills Required:

1. Updated on the major investment trends, stock markets and economics / corporate finance / basic regression statistical tools / Excel / FactSet / Bloomberg.
2. Hands-on with financial modelling and valuation techniques
3. Eye for detail
4. Multitasking - ability to juggle reports and/or tasks, and prioritize business needs
