Deputy Purchasing Manager

We're looking for an experienced Deputy Purchasing Manager to lead procurement strategy and vendor management for our manufacturing operations, ensuring cost-effective, uninterrupted supply of materials and services. This role will report to the Manager of Supply Chain.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with business goals
• Ensure uninterrupted availability of raw materials, consumables, spare parts, and services
• Drive cost reduction, value engineering, and sourcing initiatives
• Identify, evaluate, and develop suppliers
• Conduct supplier performance reviews covering quality, delivery, cost, and service
• Build long-term strategic partnerships with key suppliers
• Lead price, payment, contract, and delivery negotiations
• Achieve annual cost-saving targets through effective negotiation and alternate sourcing
• Review and approve quotations, comparative statements, and purchase orders
• Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and approval matrices
• Optimize inventory levels while avoiding stock-outs
• Monitor material planning, lead times, and supplier delivery performance
• Coordinate closely with Production, Planning, Stores, Finance, and Quality teams
• Prepare and manage departmental budgets
• Analyze market trends, commodity prices, and sourcing risks to control procurement costs
• Maintain accurate procurement records and MIS reporting
• Drive process improvements through ERP/QAD systems
• Support ISO, IATF, BIS, and other relevant compliance requirements
• Present procurement performance, savings, supplier risk, and improvement initiatives to the Plant Head and senior management
• Recommend sourcing strategies to support business continuity

Main Requirements:

• Graduate degree, preferably in Engineering; a Post Graduate Diploma in Materials Management or Purchasing is an added advantage.
• You must have 8–10 years of relevant experience in the same role in a manufacturing environment.
• This is an on-site role based in Silvassa.
• Competitive Salary based on experience INR 15-20 lacs /annual.
