Job Description
Role Name Section Head - Stores Materials
Role Description To lead and monitor stores operations including incoming material management, inventory control, PR generation, material issuance, scrap disposal, and timely monthly inventory/accounting closure.
Role purpose To help Organization in attaining optimum inventory based on ABC analysis, developing robust system management in material flow and achieving maximum realization through scrap disposal.
Reporting to HOD - Materials

Requirements
Knowledge Knowledge of customer base for scrap disposal
Experience for handling transporters & labour
Operational knowledge of LAN. (Oracle/SAP) Experience '(Number of years) 8-10 years
Skills - Leadership & interpersonal skills Qualification Graduate.
Diploma in Materials Management will be preferable.

Inventory management Inventory planning and control through ABC analysis
- Min/Max inventory management for all SKUs
- Inventory accuracy and stock reconciliation
- Effective FIFO/FEFO implementation for shelf-life materials
- Obsolete and non-moving inventory reduction
- Item codification and inventory system management
- Periodic review and optimization of inventory norms - Inventory accuracy > 98%
- Zero line stoppage due to stock-out of defined items
- Reduction in non-moving and obsolete inventory
- No generation of expired materials
- Quarterly stock reconciliation completion within timeline
- Compliance to FIFO/FEFO system
- Min/Max review completion every 6 months
- Efficient inward material receipt and MRN processing
- Timely material issuance to production/shop floor
- Effective 5S implementation in stores area
- Proper storage and preservation of temperature-sensitive materials
- RTV processing and debit note coordination with Accounts
- Efficient stores operations and material flow management - Zero line stoppage due to non-availability of defined inventory items
- Timely completion of MRN and material issuance activities
- Timely monthly purchase period closing
- 5S audit compliance in stores area
- No material deterioration due to improper storage conditions
- Timely closure of RTV and debit note transactions
- Development of scrap buyer/customer network
- Conducting scrap auctions (online & physical)
- Scrap yard management and 5S implementation
- Segregation and handling of scrap categories
- Annual scrap agreement management with scrap buyers - Maximum scrap realization against budget/market rate
- Increase in scrap revenue and contribution to profitability
- Timely disposal of scrap inventory
- No mixing of scrap categories in scrap yard
- 5S compliance in scrap yard area
- Number of active scrap buyers/vendor development
- Compliance to SOP and P2P process
- Gap identification and root cause analysis
- Implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Continuous process improvement initiatives - Closure of identified gaps within defined timeline
- Reduction in process deviations and repeat issues
- SOP compliance during audits and reviews
- Timely implementation of corrective actions
- Participation in continuous improvement initiatives
- Adherence to stacking norms and safe material handling practices
- Safe storage and disposal of hazardous materials
- Implementation of EHS requirements in stores and scrap yard areas - Zero accidents and safety incidents in stores area
- No major NCRs during safety audits
- Compliance with stacking and material handling norms
- Timely closure of safety observations/actions
- 100% adherence to EHS and safety procedures
- Inventory reduction planning and monitoring
- Preparation of annual scrap realization budget
- Monthly tracking of budget vs actual performance - Timely submission of annual budget
- Monthly Budget vs Actual tracking and reporting with Gap analysis and recovery plan
- Achievement of inventory reduction targets
- Achievement of scrap realization targets
- Variance control within approved budget limits
- Ensuring compliance with SOPs, quality systems and statutory requirements
- Audit documentation and system preparedness
- Closure of audit observations and corrective actions Successful completion of audits without major NCRs/observations
- Timely closure of audit observations and CAPA
- Compliance with SOPs and quality system requirements
- Audit readiness and document availability
- Reduction in repeat audit observations
- Periodic review of operational issues and action tracking
- Preparation and presentation of review reports/MCMs
- Monitoring of departmental performance against targets - Timely submission of weekly and monthly review reports
- Regular KPI monitoring and reporting
- Closure of action items within defined timelines
- Participation in MCMs and management review meetings
- Improvement in departmental KPI performance
