Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and optimize AWS RDS (Oracle & PostgreSQL) environments. This role focuses on performance, reliability, security, and automation, working closely with DevOps and engineering teams to support business-critical applications.

Mandatory Requirements

Hands-on experience with AWS RDS

Strong expertise in Oracle and PostgreSQL

Proven experience in performance tuning

Key Responsibilities

Administer and monitor AWS RDS (Oracle & PostgreSQL) databases

Ensure high availability, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery

Perform performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing

Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform

Integrate database operations into CI/CD pipelines

Enforce security, access control, and compliance standards

Collaborate with engineering teams on schema design and deployments

Support incident management and root cause analysis

Required Skills

Strong experience with AWS RDS (mandatory)

Expertise in Oracle and PostgreSQL (mandatory)

Proven skills in performance tuning (mandatory)

Proficiency in SQL and execution plan analysis

Experience with Terraform and automation

Knowledge of backup, replication, and disaster recovery strategies

Experience with monitoring and alerting tools

Preferred Skills

Exposure to Snowflake or other data warehouse platforms

Familiarity with AWS CloudWatch and CloudTrail

Scripting knowledge (Python/Bash)

Relevant certifications (AWS / Oracle)
