Role Description The Contracts and Control Expert is a full-time, on-site role based in West Bengal, India. This position is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and managing contracts and related documentation for engineering and infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with company standards and applicable regulations. Daily tasks include drafting and negotiating contractual terms, monitoring contract performance and milestones, and coordinating closely with project managers, finance teams, and external partners. The role also involves analyzing risks, implementing internal controls, maintaining accurate records, and supporting audits and reporting. The Contracts and Control Expert contributes to process improvements, supports decision-making with clear documentation, and helps ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with contractual commitments.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in contract drafting, review, negotiation, and management, with the ability to interpret legal and commercial terms clearly.
- Experience in project controls, including budgeting, cost tracking, scheduling, risk assessment, and performance monitoring.
- Proficiency in documentation and reporting, including maintaining contract registers, preparing status reports, and supporting internal audits.
- Familiarity with engineering, infrastructure, or construction project environments, and an understanding of industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and a structured, methodical work style.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
- Comfort with relevant digital tools and office software (e.g., spreadsheets, document management systems, project management platforms).
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, law, business, or a related field; advanced certifications in contract management or project controls are an advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to work on-site in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and uphold high ethical and compliance standards.
