Company Description

Alpha Angels Animal Trust, based in Goa, India, is a women-led organization dedicated to street animal welfare through rescue, medical care, sterilization, and community engagement. Since 2021, the Trust has treated and sterilized thousands of animals, established a treatment center with surgical facilities, and launched Surakshit Goa — a campaign to reduce animal-human conflict through education and targeted interventions. With a mission to address root causes such as population control and lack of awareness, Alpha Angels aims to create sustainable, humane models for animal care. Currently, the organization is working to establish Goa’s first 24/7 hospital for street animals to serve as a replicable blueprint for similar initiatives across India.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role located in Goa, India, for a Community Engagement Officer. The officer will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with local community members and stakeholders, organizing outreach programs and campaigns, managing community education initiatives, and fostering partnerships to support the Trust’s mission. Additionally, the role involves planning and executing projects, monitoring program outcomes, and ensuring smooth communication between the organization and the community.

Qualifications

• Strong Interpersonal Skills and ability to foster relationships within diverse communities
• Experience in Community Engagement and Stakeholder Engagement
• Excellent Communication skills, including public speaking and writing
• Proficiency in Project Management, including planning, coordination, and execution
• Ability to work collaboratively and represent the organization professionally
• Passion for animal welfare and community-driven initiatives
• Previous experience in a similar role or in the nonprofit sector is preferred
• Proficiency in local languages (e.g., Konkani or Hindi) is an added advantage
