Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Chef De Partie (Tandoor) role based in Chandigarh. The Chef De Partie (Tandoor) will be responsible for preparing and cooking tandoor dishes, including breads, kebabs, and other specialty items, according to PYRAMID’s recipes and quality standards. The role includes managing a designated section of the kitchen, ensuring proper mise en place, monitoring cooking times, and maintaining consistency in taste, presentation, and portion sizes. The individual will follow food safety and hygiene guidelines, oversee proper use and maintenance of tandoor equipment, and coordinate with other kitchen team members to ensure timely service during peak hours. The role also involves supporting menu development, minimizing wastage, and assisting in training junior staff in tandoor techniques and kitchen best practices.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in tandoor cooking, including preparation of traditional breads, kebabs, and marinated items.
- Solid understanding of kitchen operations, including mise en place, portion control, and food presentation.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and proper handling of ingredients and equipment.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume hospitality environment and collaborate with kitchen and service teams.
- Previous experience as a Commis or Chef De Partie in a tandoor or Indian cuisine-focused kitchen is preferred.
- Formal culinary training or a diploma in culinary arts or hotel management is an advantage.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to maintaining PYRAMID’s quality and service standards.
