Account Manager (Sales) - Job Overview
As an Account Manager, you will play a key role in driving revenue growth by strengthening relationships with existing customers while actively pursuing new business opportunities. This position is responsible for managing accounts, achieving sales targets, and contributing to the overall sales strategy.

What You'll Do

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers, maintaining regular contact (at least monthly) to keep accounts engaged and expanding
  • Meet or exceed established sales quotas through proactive and strategic selling efforts
  • Develop tailored account strategies that anticipate customer needs, identify opportunities, and support long-term growth
  • Travel regularly to meet with customers in person and reinforce partnerships
  • Dedicate at least 50% of time to prospecting, including cold calling, developing new contacts, and generating opportunities with both new and existing customers
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products, services, industry trends, regional dynamics, and customer environments through ongoing training, research, trade shows, and networking
  • Grow existing accounts by identifying upselling opportunities and recommending complementary products and services to increase sales and gross profit
  • Respond to customer inquiries promptly and professionally to ensure a high level of service
  • Adhere to company processes and guidelines to consistently deliver a high-quality customer experience
  • Accurately document key interactions, opportunities, and insights within the internal system (CAM)
  • Provide feedback on market conditions, including pricing, products, promotions, and competitive activity
  • Utilize company tools and technology to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Recommend enhancements to sales processes to increase both the quality and volume of customer engagement
  • Conduct weekly follow-ups on quotes and open opportunities to maintain deal momentum
  • Collaborate closely with Purchasing to refine quotes and improve overall win rates
  • Continuously invest in professional development through reading, training, seminars, and learning from peers and leadership
