Business Development Manager/Sr. Manager (3-8 Years)
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Drive new client acquisition (B2B, global clients)
- Build pipeline across Investment Research, Investment Banking, Data Analytics services
- Manage end-to-end sales cycle (lead → pitch → closure)
- Build and maintain strong relationships with C-level executives and key decision-makers, ensuring high-quality engagement and long-term partnerships.
- Collaborate with delivery, research, and analytics teams
- Represent the organization at international conferences, industry events, and networking forums to build brand presence and generate new business opportunities.
- Undertake international travel as required for client meetings, deal closures, and strategic business expansion initiatives.
- Drive strategic negotiations with clients to ensure mutually beneficial commercial terms while safeguarding organizational interests.
- Oversee the drafting, review, and finalization of Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) and Agreements, including Master Service Agreements (MSA), Statements of Work (SOW), and other contractual documents.
- Supervise, mentor, and guide the business development team, ensuring alignment with revenue targets, performance metrics, and organizational goals.
- Monitor team performance, provide regular feedback, and drive capability-building initiatives to enhance overall sales effectiveness.
- Reporting to the CEO of the company - Prepare daily sales reports, detailing lead generation activities, pipeline status, conversion rates, and sales performance.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) / Targets
- Revenue Achievement:
- Achieve and exceed assigned annual and quarterly revenue targets, with a strong focus on high-value deal closures and sustainable business growth.
- New Client Acquisition:
- Consistently onboard new clients across target markets, with defined monthly/quarterly acquisition goals.
- Sales Pipeline Management:
- Maintain a robust and healthy sales pipeline (typically 3–5x of target), ensuring accurate forecasting and timely conversion.
- Client Retention & Growth:
- Ensure high client retention rates and contribute to account growth through upselling and cross-selling.
- C-Level Engagement Effectiveness:
- Establish and sustain meaningful relationships with senior stakeholders, leading to repeat business and strategic partnerships.
- Negotiation Efficiency:
- Achieve favorable deal closure timelines and commercial terms, minimizing discounting while maximizing profitability.
- Team Performance (if applicable):
- Drive team-level KPIs including target achievement, pipeline generation, and productivity metrics.
- Market Expansion:
- Contribute to geographical and industry expansion, including success from international travel and conference participation.
- Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure 100% adherence to NDA, contractual, and internal compliance processes across all deals.
Requirements
- MBA/ Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3-8 Years of relevant experience.
- Basic knowledge of financial domain or investment research, investment banking, financial model, PE/VC and all our services.
- Excellent verbal communication and English writing skills.
- The candidate should reflect good interpersonal skills.
- Proven experience in generating leads and closing deals, preferably in the research and analytics industry
- Familiarity with the latest marketing tools and techniques.
