Compensation: As Per Industry standards, Performance-based incentive may be applicable based on revenue generation.

Job Summary

We are looking for a result-oriented Business Development Manager to drive business growth for Solar C&I Projects, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Solar + BESS Hybrid Solutions, Open Access Power, Captive / Group Captive Power and Industrial Energy Solutions. The role will focus on identifying Commercial & Industrial customers, generating qualified leads, understanding customer energy pain points, preparing techno-commercial proposals and converting opportunities into revenue.

The candidate must be capable of necessity-driven selling, where energy solutions are positioned around power cost reduction, grid reliability, DG fuel savings, peak shaving, demand charge optimization, renewable energy utilization and business continuity.

Qualification

  • B.E. / B. Tech in Electrical, Mechanical, Energy, Power Systems or related engineering discipline.
  • MBA in Marketing / Business Development will be preferred.
  • Additional certifications in Solar, Renewable Energy, Energy Auditing, BESS or Power Systems will be an advantage.

Experience Requirement

Minimum 8-12 years of experience in one or more of the following sectors:

  • Rooftop Solar / Ground-Mounted Solar
  • Open Access Solar
  • Captive / Group Captive Power
  • Renewable Energy Business Development
  • Industrial Sales / C&I Power Solutions
  • Power Quality / UPS / DG Solutions
  • Electrical Infrastructure / Energy Consulting

Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of Solar C&I business models including CAPEX, OPEX, RESCO, PPA, captive and group captive structures.
  • Knowledge of BESS applications such as peak shaving, DG optimization, demand charge reduction, backup power and renewable energy storage.
  • Ability to read and analyse electricity bills, TOD tariff, contract demand, maximum demand and energy consumption patterns.
  • Understanding of solar generation estimation, CUF, tariff comparison, landed cost and project payback.
  • Good understanding of open access charges, wheeling, banking, transmission, CSS, AS and applicable losses.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, presentation and customer relationship management skills.
  • Good network with C&I customers, consultants, EPC contractors, developers, energy auditors and industrial associations.
  • Ability to coordinate with technical, regulatory, finance, legal, project and management teams.
  • Target-oriented approach with strong follow-up discipline and commercial closure mind-set.

Preferred Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should have proven experience in acquiring C&I customers and selling technical energy solutions. The candidate should be able to identify customer pain points such as high grid tariff, high diesel usage, frequent outages, maximum demand penalties, solar curtailment and reliability issues, and convert them into Solar C&I, BESS and Solar + BESS business opportunities.

Travel Requirement

Regular travel will be required across industrial clusters, customer sites, exhibitions, energy forums and business meetings.
