MHK Exports is a vertically integrated apparel manufacturer specializing in women's, men's, and kids' woven and knit garments. We partner with leading international retailers and brands across North America, Europe, and other global markets, offering end-to-end solutions from product development and sourcing to manufacturing and global delivery.


As we continue to expand our international customer base, we are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to lead our customer acquisition efforts and build long-term partnerships with global apparel brands and retailers.



Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Business Development Manager – International Apparel Exports based in Gurugram. The role involves identifying and developing new international buyers, managing and expanding relationships with existing clients, and driving export sales for woven and knitted garments. Day-to-day responsibilities include market research, lead generation, attending buyer meetings, coordinating sampling and pricing, and negotiating terms to close orders. The Business Development Manager will collaborate closely with merchandising, production, and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction. The role also includes monitoring global fashion and market trends, participating in trade fairs or buyer visits, and preparing regular sales and performance reports for senior management.


The ideal candidate has a proven track record in apparel exports, possesses an established network within the industry, and is confident representing the company in front of international buyers.



Qualifications

  • Identify, develop, and acquire new international apparel buyers, brands, and retailers.
  • Develop and execute business development strategies to achieve sales and revenue targets.
  • Generate qualified leads through LinkedIn, industry networks, trade directories, referrals, and outbound outreach.
  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with sourcing heads, buying offices, and international brands.
  • Conduct sales presentations, virtual meetings, and buyer visits to showcase MHK Exports' capabilities.
  • Represent MHK Exports at domestic and international trade fairs, exhibitions, and industry events to generate new business opportunities.
  • Coordinate with merchandising, sourcing, design, and production teams to develop customer-specific solutions.
  • Prepare quotations, presentations, costing proposals, and commercial offers.
  • Negotiate commercial terms and manage the sales process through order confirmation.
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline and CRM with regular follow-ups.
  • Monitor international fashion trends, sourcing markets, and competitor activity to identify new opportunities.



Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion, Business, Marketing, Textile Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5–10 years of experience in international apparel sales, business development, sourcing, or export marketing.
  • Demonstrated success in acquiring and managing international apparel accounts.
  • Strong understanding of garment manufacturing, product development, sourcing, costing, and export processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills.
  • Willingness to travel internationally for customer meetings and trade exhibitions.
  • Experience with CRM systems and Microsoft Office.



Preferred Experience

  • Existing relationships with retailers, brands, buying houses, or sourcing offices in the USA, Canada, Europe, Australia, or the Middle East.
  • Experience across both woven and knit apparel categories.
  • Understanding of global compliance requirements, quality standards, and apparel sourcing practices.
