Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Application Architect with strong hands-on expertise in building scalable SaaS platforms and AI-powered systems. This role requires a balance of great technical skills, systems thinking, and business understanding. You will be responsible for designing robust architectures, driving engineering standards, and building systems that scale efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable, high-performance system architectures.
  • Build and scale multi-tenant SaaS or high-volume platforms.
  • Drive technical decision-making independently.
  • Improve engineering practices, system reliability, and performance.
  • Collaborate with product and business teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Mentor engineers and guide architectural best practices.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in system architecture and scalable SaaS design.
  • Hands-on expertise in backend development, cloud infrastructure, and AI/automation-heavy systems.
  • Ability to drive architecture decisions independently.
  • Practical experience preferred over purely managerial profiles.

Technical Skills

  • Programming: TypeScript / Java / Go / Python.
  • DevOps / MLOps: CI/CD pipelines.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Terraform / AWS CDK.
  • Monitoring: Logs, traces, and metrics systems.

Architecture Skills Identity And Access

  • OAuth2 OIDC, JWT.
  • SSO implementation.
  • Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).

System Design And Scalability

  • Microservices / modular/event-driven architectures.
  • Handling scale, latency, and cost optimisation.

Cloud Architecture

  • AWS / Azure / GCP.
  • Compute, networking, IAM, storage.
  • Serverless vs containerized architectures.

Multi-Tenancy

  • Designing and scaling multi-tenant systems.

APIs And Integrations

  • REST / GraphQL APIs.
  • Third-party integrations (LLMs, data services, internal systems).

Data Architecture

  • Data Pipelines: Ingestion, transformation, enrichment.
  • Processing: Batch vs streaming.
  • Storage: Relational DBs, NoSQL, data lakes/warehouses.
  • Vector Data: Hybrid search (keyword + vector).
  • Governance: Access control, auditability (enterprise-grade systems).

Nice To Have

AI & ML Integration:

(Not a pure Data Science role)

  • LLM integrations (OpenAI, Anthropic, open-source models).
  • Prompt engineering and tool/function calling.
  • RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) systems.
  • Vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS).
  • Embeddings, chunking strategies.
  • Inference optimisation (latency vs accuracy).
  • Caching strategies (prompt and response).
  • Model lifecycle awareness (versioning, monitoring, cost control).

Product And Business Thinking

  • Strong MVP-first mindset(build fast, iterate faster).
  • Ability to makebuy vs build decisions.
  • Focus on AI features tied to business value.
  • Understanding of AI UX, guardrails, explainability, and failure handling.
  • Awareness of ROI and scalability impact.

Soft Skills

  • Translate business problems into scalable technical solutions.
  • Communicate trade-offs effectively with leadership.
  • Mentor and guide engineering teams.
