Role Description The Admission Team Lead is a full-time, on-site role based in Coimbatore, responsible for overseeing the admissions process across TAU-C’s institutions and programs. This role includes managing a team of admissions officers, setting daily goals, monitoring application pipelines, and ensuring timely processing of inquiries and applications. The Admission Team Lead will coordinate with academic and administrative departments, guide prospective students through eligibility and documentation requirements, and maintain high standards of customer service in all interactions. Daily tasks include tracking admission metrics, implementing process improvements, conducting training for team members, and ensuring compliance with institutional policies and regulatory guidelines. The role also requires preparing reports for management, supporting enrollment campaigns, and representing the institution in student outreach activities when needed.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the Admissions Team
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of Admission Counsellors to achieve enrollment goals.
- Conduct regular coaching sessions, team huddles, and performance reviews.
- Monitor team productivity, KPIs, attendance, and overall performance.
- Develop action plans to improve individual and team performance.
Drive Student Admissions
- Oversee the complete admissions lifecycle from inquiry to enrollment.
- Ensure timely lead engagement, follow-ups, and conversion.
- Support counsellors in handling complex student and parent queries.
- Guide prospective students on program offerings, eligibility, scholarships, tuition fees, and career pathways.
- Drive achievement of admission and revenue targets.
Lead & CRM Management
- Monitor lead allocation and ensure equitable distribution.
- Maintain CRM accuracy and ensure timely updates.
- Optimize lead conversion across every stage of the admissions funnel.
Performance & Reporting
- Track daily, weekly, and monthly admissions performance.
- Prepare MIS reports and provide insights to management.

- Call Productivity
- Follow-up Compliance
- Enrollment Targets
Training & Quality
- Coach counsellors on admissions best practices and consultative selling.
- Conduct call audits and quality assessments.
- Deliver regular product knowledge and sales training.
- Ensure adherence to admission policies and institutional guidelines.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Marketing, Operations, Finance, and Academic teams to deliver a seamless admission experience.
- Share performance insights and recommendations with senior management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline (MBA preferred).
- 8+ years of experience in Admissions, Student Recruitment, Education Counselling, or Inside Sales.
- Minimum 2 years of experience leading an admissions or counselling team.
- Proven track record of achieving admission and revenue targets.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team management skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
- Hands-on experience with CRM systems and admissions reporting.
