Job Description

Position Overview


The Vice President of Portfolio Management is responsible for managing and optimizing corporate or client investment portfolios, ensuring a balance between risk and return, and achieving asset appreciation objectives. This role typically reports directly to the Chief Investment Officer or the Head of Investment Management and plays a pivotal role in strategy formulation, execution, and risk management.


Key Responsibilities


Portfolio Management


  Oversee and manage the overall performance of corporate or client investment portfolios.

  Formulate and execute asset allocation strategies, encompassing equities, fixed income, private equity, alternative investments, and other asset classes.

  Periodically analyze portfolio performance and make adjustments to optimize the risk-return profile.


Research and Analysis


  Conduct in-depth research on market trends, economic indicators, and industry dynamics.

  Perform due diligence, financial modeling, and return forecasting for potential investment opportunities.

  Generate portfolio analysis reports to provide a basis for decision-making by senior executives or clients.


Risk Management


  Monitor portfolio risk exposures, including market risk, credit risk, and liquidity risk.

  Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure the portfolio aligns with the firm's risk appetite and regulatory requirements.


Team Collaboration and Guidance


  Manage a team of analysts or investment managers, assigning tasks and providing professional guidance.

  Coordinate with other departments (e.g., Finance, Legal, Compliance) to ensure the smooth execution of investment activities.


Client Relationship Management (If Applicable)


  Report on portfolio performance to institutional or high-net-worth clients.

  Participate in investment meetings and strategic discussions, providing professional advice to clients.


Job Requirements


Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field; a Master's degree (MBA or Finance-related) is preferred.


Experience: Typically requires 20+ years of experience in investment management, asset management, or financial analysis; prior experience in portfolio management is preferred.


Skills:


  Deep proficiency in financial analysis and modeling (using tools such as Excel, Bloomberg, FactSet, etc.).

  Solid knowledge of investment theory (asset allocation, Modern Portfolio Theory, risk management methodologies).

  Strong leadership and team management skills.

  Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly present findings to senior executives or clients.


Certifications (Optional):** CFA, CAIA, CPA, or other investment management-related certifications are preferred.
