Transport Planner

Partner in Pet Food (PPF) is an innovative, leading European pet food producer, supplying over 600 customers, including major grocery retailers, supermarkets, specialized pet shops in the 40 markets in which it operates.

PPF is the second largest producer of Retailer Brand wet and dry pet food in Europe, offering a full range of high quality cat and dog food products.

PPF is headquartered in Hungary, employs around 3.000 staff and has operations in 10 countries.

We are looking for a Transport Planner , who would like to be a part of our international team.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Organization of transport for domestic, intercompany, and export clients
• Planning transport based on requested customer volumes and intercompany inbound needs
• Daily communication with transport forwarders to secure required volumes and service levels; building strong relationships with preferred carriers
• Preparation and tracking of transport orders via the TRANSPOREON system
• Daily coordination with Customer Service and MSP departments regarding delivery volumes
• Daily communication with warehouses to manage loading/unloading timeslots at PPF facilities
• Documentation of transport lines, invoices, and price lists
• Invoice approval based on agreed price lists
• KPI reporting: On-time arrival, On-time delivery, Delays, Daily volume, Cost tracking
• Feedback from unloading sites
• FTL (Full Truck Load) ratio
• Participation in negotiations with transport forwarders regarding capacity, pricing, and cooperation
• Focus on optimizing transport costs, delivery lines, and systems; maximizing truck utilization and full truck loads for PPF customer deliveries
• Emphasis on synergies and milk-run deliveries to PPF customers and between PPF entities
• Commitment to minimizing environmental footprint (CO₂ emissions)
• Active participation in optimization projects (software, process improvements, etc.)

You are the right fit, if you have:

• Secondary education, preferably in Supply Chain, Logistics, Economics, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in transport management, ideally within the FMCG sector;
• Proven experience in managing export/import transport flows
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the flexibility to navigate ambiguity
• Solid supply chain background, including operational collaboration with customers, warehouses, Customer Service, and demand/market planning teams
• Skilled in negotiating with transport suppliers
• Results-driven and action-oriented mindset
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Customer-focused with a cost-conscious approach
• Committed to continuous improvement and operational efficiency
• Fluent in English (spoken and written)
• Proficient in Excel; experience with ERP systems and preferably the TRANSPOREON platform
• Adaptable, resilient, and able to perform well under pressure
