About the role
We are looking for a hands-on Tech Lead who will partner with our existing backend lead to jointly drive the technical direction, operational execution, and team leadership. This person should bring strong engineering skills, natural leadership energy, and a genuine interest in the Chemaxon product portfolio. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable writing production code, supporting engineers, and driving team processes.
Responsibilities
Technical Profile
- Strong frontend or full-stack engineering background (modern JS frameworks, TypeScript, UI architecture, tooling, etc.)
- Comfortable working hands-on: regularly coding, reviewing PRs, supporting design and implementation decisions
- Ability to collaborate deeply with the backend lead to align architectural plans across the full stack
- Experience in designing scalable, maintainable user-facing systems
Leadership & Collaboration
- Motivated to engage in people management activities (coaching, feedback, 1:1s, supporting growth)
- Natural communicator who brings energy and clarity to the team
- Enjoys improving team processes, rituals, quality practices, and collaboration
- Able to act as a partner to the existing backend lead - balanced, respectful, complementary
- Capable of representing the team toward Product, Design, and other engineering groups
- Comfortable taking ownership and driving initiatives forward end-to-end

Qualifications
- Strong technical expertise in frontend or full-stack development
- Proven experience in team leadership or people management
- Excellent communication skills
- Good command of English
- Proactive leadership mindset: able to coach, give feedback, and support team growth
- Familiarity or interest in scientific/chemistry software or domain-specific tooling is a plus
