Talent Research & Intelligence Associate

Location: Chennai, India

Employment Type: Full-time

Function: Executive Search / Talent Research / Market Intelligence

About Stemgenic

Stemgenic is a specialist executive search and career consulting firm headquartered in Singapore, focused on STEM-led sectors across Southeast Asia, APAC, and selected global markets. We partner with companies across Specialty Chemicals, Food Specialties & Nutrition, Industrial Manufacturing, EPC, Life Sciences, Medical Devices, Automation, and related technical industries to identify, engage, and attract high-quality professionals for critical technical and leadership roles.

As part of our growth, we are looking for a Talent Research & Intelligence Associate based in Chennai to support our executive search delivery, candidate mapping, market intelligence, and CRM operations.

About the Role

This role sits at the heart of our search process — you'll be the person behind the candidate side of our business, mapping talent markets, building candidate lists and keeping our intelligence sharp before our consultants ever pick up the phone. You'll work closely with our Singapore-based search team, supporting live mandates across APAC.

This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, curious, research-driven, and interested in building a career within executive search and talent intelligence.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct candidate mapping across target companies, industries, functions, and geographies for active search mandates
  • Research companies, competitors, business units, and leadership teams to build target lists and org maps
  • Build outreach campaigns for specific roles and sectors
  • Prepare longlists and market research summaries for client-facing consultants
  • Assist with business intelligence research, including company news, hiring trends, competitor activity, and industry developments
  • Manage and continuously update our candidate database and CRM
  • Track industry movements and compensation benchmarks to build market intelligence
  • Support LinkedIn and online research for sourcing hard-to-find, senior-level candidates

Requirements

  • 1 to 5 years of experience in candidate sourcing, recruitment support, talent mapping, or recruitment research. Fresh graduates who are keen to start their career in executive search are also welcome to apply.
  • High attention to detail, particularly in maintaining CRM data hygiene, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Strong written English, with the ability to prepare clear and concise candidate notes, research summaries, and internal updates.
  • Good working knowledge of STEM-industry terminology and concepts, or a genuine willingness to learn and build familiarity with technical sectors.
