The SME will collaborate with instructional designers, learning consultants, and content developers to ensure the technical accuracy, industry relevance, and operational realism of the training content. Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Data Center Electrical Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the development of technical eLearning courses for global data center operations teams. The SME will collaborate with instructional designers, learning consultants, and content developers to ensure the technical accuracy, industry relevance, and operational realism of the training content. The role focuses on reviewing and validating learning content rather than developing engineering designs or managing live operations. Key
Responsibilities
- Participate in project kickoff and design workshops.
- Provide technical guidance during course planning and content development.
- Review learning objectives, content outlines, and instructional design documents.
- Validate technical accuracy of storyboards, scripts, graphics, animations, and assessments.
- Recommend real-world operational scenarios, examples, and best practices.
- Ensure content aligns with current data center electrical operations, safety standards, and operational procedures.
- Verify terminology, workflows, and troubleshooting sequences.
- Review technical illustrations, electrical diagrams, and process flows for accuracy.
- Participate in review meetings and provide timely feedback. Support beta testing and final technical sign-off.

- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Education, Journalism, Business, or a related field
- Master's degree (preferred)
Required Experience
- 12+ years of experience in electrical engineering or electrical operations within mission-critical or data center environments.
- Hands-on experience with electrical operations, maintenance, commissioning, or facility management.
- Strong understanding of electrical safety practices and operational governance.
- Experience participating in incident investigations and root cause analysis.
- Familiarity with redundancy strategies and high-availability infrastructure.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to review technical content and provide structured feedback.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience with mission-critical facility operations.
- Knowledge of commissioning and integrated systems testing.
- Familiarity with international standards and best practices (NFPA 70E, IEEE, IEC, OSHA, or equivalent).
- Previous experience supporting technical training, knowledge transfer, documentation, or eLearning projects is an advantage
