Role Description The Special Educator – RCI Certified role is a full-time, on-site position based at The Indian Public School campus in Erode. The Special Educator will design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for learners with diverse needs, ensuring alignment with school curricula and inclusive education standards. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, adapting classroom materials, providing one-on-one and small-group support, and collaborating with mainstream teachers to differentiate instruction. The role involves regular communication with families and caregivers, maintaining detailed documentation of student progress, and coordinating with counselors and other support staff to create a supportive learning environment. The Special Educator will also contribute to awareness and training sessions for staff on inclusive practices, classroom strategies, and behavior management.
Qualifications

• Strong understanding of diverse disabilities and inclusive education practices, with the ability to design appropriate interventions and accommodations.
• Demonstrated teaching and special education skills, including lesson planning, classroom management, and individualized instruction.
• Experience working with middle school learners or similar age groups, with sensitivity to their developmental and emotional needs.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams, and for documenting progress clearly.
• RCI (Rehabilitation Council of India) certification in Special Education is required.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field from a recognized institution.
• Ability to work collaboratively with general educators, counselors, and administrators in a school setting.
• Proficiency in creating IEPs, using assessment tools, and maintaining accurate records and reports.
