About The Role
The Site In-Charge (Solid Waste Management – Logistics) will be responsible for end-to-end management of waste collection operations at the site level. This includes overseeing field teams, ensuring adherence to operational standards, managing logistics (vehicles, manpower, and routes), and coordinating with multiple stakeholders for efficient service delivery.
This role demands strong leadership, hands-on field management, and data-driven decision-making skills to ensure high operational efficiency and compliance with company SOPs and municipal requirements.

About The Role
The Site In-Charge (Solid Waste Management – Logistics) will be responsible for end-to-end management of waste collection operations at the site level. This includes overseeing field teams, ensuring adherence to operational standards, managing logistics (vehicles, manpower, and routes), and coordinating with multiple stakeholders for efficient service delivery.
This role demands strong leadership, hands-on field management, and data-driven decision-making skills to ensure high operational efficiency and compliance with company SOPs and municipal requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Operations Management
- Supervise daily waste collection, segregation, and transportation activities.
- Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols.
- Conduct regular site inspections to maintain operational discipline and hygiene standards.
- Manage manpower deployment and attendance, ensuring adequate resource availability.
- Logistics & Fleet Coordination
- Oversee vehicle scheduling, route planning, and GPS-based tracking to optimize collection routes.
- Ensure proper maintenance and timely servicing of vehicles and equipment.
- Monitor fuel consumption, trip logs, and vehicle utilization for cost efficiency.
- Team Supervision & Performance Monitoring
- Lead and motivate field teams including drivers, helpers, and supervisors.
- Conduct daily briefings, assign tasks, and ensure performance targets are met.
- Train and mentor field staff on process improvements and safety measures.
- Data Management & Reporting
- Maintain accurate operational data, including collection logs, route details, and manpower reports.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports to management.
- Analyze performance trends to identify gaps and implement corrective actions.
- Coordination & Compliance
- Liaise with municipal authorities, vendors, and local communities for smooth operations.
- Ensure all waste collection and disposal activities comply with local regulatory norms.
- Handle on-ground challenges, grievances, and emergencies promptly.
- Continuous Improvement
- Recommend and implement process improvements for operational efficiency.
- Contribute to the deployment of technology solutions (IoT systems, mobile apps, etc.) for better monitoring.
- Support initiatives aimed at enhancing sustainability and resource optimisation.
- Graduate / Postgraduate in Management, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Solid Waste Management / Logistics / Field Operations.
- Proven track record of handling on-ground operational teams and multiple stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of waste collection systems, route optimisation, and manpower management.
- Leadership and team management in field operations.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills (Excel, MIS dashboards).
- Knowledge of logistics, fleet management, and supply chain operations.
- Excellent problem-solving, coordination, and decision-making ability.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management.
- Familiarity with IoT-based or GPS-enabled operational systems preferred.
