HRIDAY is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to promote sustainable health, particularly among youth, in multiple settings including schools, colleges, workplaces, and the community at large. HRIDAY engages in multi-disciplinary research, capacity building and undertakes campaigns linked to the prevention and control of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs). HRIDAY addresses NCDs from a health and development perspective, particularly in the context of Goal 3.4 under the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Job Description
The Senior Research Scientist will lead and support public health research and programme activities at HRIDAY, with a focus on climate change and health, particularly heat-related impacts. The role includes contributing to study design, implementation, data interpretation, and development of technical outputs such as reports, policy briefs, and publications. The position also requires coordination with teams and stakeholders, while supporting proposal development and ensuring high scientific and operational standards across activities.

The position also requires coordination with teams and stakeholders, while supporting proposal development and ensuring high scientific and operational standards across activities.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be expected to:
- Lead and support research and programme activities related to public health and environmental health themes
- Contribute to conceptualisation, design, implementation, monitoring, and documentation of research activities
- Support development of technical reports, proposals, manuscripts, policy briefs, and presentations
- Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, collaborators, and external stakeholders
- Oversee field activities, data processes, and technical deliverables where required
- Provide scientific and technical inputs for ongoing and upcoming institutional work
- Undertake any other responsibilities assigned by the organisation
- PhD in Public Health / Epidemiology / Community Medicine / Environmental Health / Health Sciences / allied disciplines
- Demonstrated experience in Climate Change and Health, especially heat-related health research / environmental health / public health research
- Strong understanding of research design, project implementation, and scientific documentation
- Experience of working in multi-disciplinary public health research settings
- Excellent writing and communication skills in English
- Strong analytical and scientific writing skills
- Ability to independently manage research deliverables
- Experience in quantitative, qualitative, and/or mixed-methods research
- Good knowledge of public health data interpretation
- Proficiency in MS Office, research documentation, and project coordination
Relevant post-qualification experience in research / programme implementation / public health projects
Prior Experience In
- Climate change and health
- Heat exposure / heat stress / heat-health action related work
- Field-based public health research
- Proposal writing, report writing, and scientific publications
- Coordination with stakeholders, institutions, and project teams
- Remuneration: Commensurate with qualification and experience, as per HRIDAY norms
