Purpose of the job

The Senior Purchase Manager is responsible for planning, sourcing, purchasing, and managing the procurement of materials, equipment, and services required for the organization. The role ensures timely availability of quality materials at competitive prices while maintaining strong vendor relationships and controlling procurement costs.

Key responsibilities

Develop and implement purchasing strategies in line with organizational goals.
Source and evaluate suppliers, negotiate prices, terms, and contracts.
Manage vendor relationships and monitor supplier performance.
Ensure timely procurement of materials, equipment, and services.
Control procurement budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Maintain inventory levels and coordinate with stores and operations departments.
Review purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and contract agreements.
Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and procurement regulations.
Analyze market trends, pricing, and supply risks to support decision-making.
Lead and guide the purchase team to achieve departmental targets.
