Description

We are recruiting a Senior Copywriter on a 12 month fixed term contract to join our marketing team. The Senior Copywriter will play a key role in shaping how Priory communicates about mental health and addiction, helping to increase public understanding and support more people to access timely, appropriate treatment across Priory’s nationwide network of services. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the role will focus on creating clear, engaging and accessible content for Priory’s main website, covering a wide range of service areas including mental health, addiction, young people’s services, eating disorders and specialist treatment pathways.


This is a hybrid role, with 2 days based at our office in Cheadle. Our Cheadle office is within the grounds of Priory Hospital Cheadle Royal, 100 Wilmslow Road, Manchester, SK8 3DG.

What you'll be doing

Working closely with the marketing, digital, clinical and operational teams, you will play a key role in developing clear, accurate and accessible content across our digital and print channels, ensuring all messaging reflects Priory’s brand, values and clinical standards.

You will produce and manage a wide range of content for the Priory website and supporting materials, ensuring it is informative, clinically accurate and optimised for search. You will collaborate with stakeholders across the business to identify content needs, support marketing campaigns and maintain consistent messaging across all audiences.

Key responsibilities include:

• Producing high-quality copy for the Priory website, including service pages, treatment pathways, blogs, clinician biographies and hospital location pages.
• Developing supporting collateral such as brochures, welcome packs, treatment guides, case studies and service-specific materials.
• Creating and optimising PPC landing pages and supporting digital marketing initiatives to drive engagement and enquiries.
• Managing the quality assurance process for clinical content, working with clinicians to ensure materials are accurate, compliant and approved prior to publication.
• Ensuring all content is clear, consistent and aligned with Priory’s brand, clinical standards and style guidelines.
• Providing copywriting support to the wider marketing and communications teams where required.

What you'll bring to the role

You will be a confident writer with a strong command of the English language and a passion for producing clear, engaging and accurate content. You will be a motivated self-starter who enjoys working to deadlines and contributing to a supportive, collaborative and high-performing team.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Excellent copywriting skills and the ability to communicate complex information clearly
• An interest or understanding of mental health (preferred but not essential
• Experience writing search-optimised content, ideally for websites and supporting marketing materials
• The ability to work collaboratively with designers and colleagues across the business
• Strong communication skills and the ability to engage both clinical and non-clinical audiences
