Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Sales Officer role based in Kochi. The Sales Officer will be responsible for sourcing and acquiring new customers for microfinance and gold loan products, including identifying prospective clients in local communities and self-help groups. Daily activities include conducting field visits, explaining product features, completing documentation, and supporting customers through the application and disbursement process. The role involves managing sales operations such as maintaining records, tracking leads, and ensuring timely follow-up to meet individual and branch sales targets. The Sales Officer will also coordinate with channel partners, branch staff, and community organizations to strengthen outreach and support Belstar’s focus on financial inclusion and social transformation.
Qualifications
- Strong customer-facing skills in customer service and communication to engage with diverse clients and explain financial products clearly.
- Ability to perform lead generation and sales operations, including prospecting, follow-ups, and maintaining accurate sales and customer records.
- Experience or aptitude in channel sales, collaborating with local partners, community groups, and branch teams to expand outreach.
- Basic understanding of microfinance or retail lending; prior experience in NBFCs, banks, or MFIs is an advantage.
- Minimum educational qualification: higher secondary or graduate degree in any discipline; relevant certifications in sales or finance are beneficial.
- Proficiency in local language and working knowledge of English; ability to use basic digital tools and mobile applications for field operations.
- Strong ethical orientation, reliability, and willingness to work in the field and travel locally around Kochi as required.
