About the Job
As our new Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales growth across your assigned territory by identifying new business opportunities, strengthening relationships with existing customers, and executing DEIF's sales strategy to achieve ambitious business targets.
Working closely with customers, distributors, consultants, OEMs, EPC contractors, and internal stakeholders, you will play a key role in expanding DEIF's market presence while ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction and long-term business partnerships.
This position is based in Bengaluru and reports to the Senior Sales Manager – South. The role involves extensive travel across the assigned territory.
Working Tasks & Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve and exceed sales targets within the assigned territory.
- Increase DEIF's market share by identifying customer needs and delivering value-driven technical solutions.
- Build, maintain, and expand relationships with existing customers while identifying and developing new business opportunities.
- Manage sales budgets, forecasts, and profitability for the assigned customer portfolio and territory.
- Prepare, negotiate, and close commercial quotations and supply agreements in accordance with DEIF's quality standards and pricing guidelines.
- Coordinate sales activities with Internal Sales, Channel Partners, Agents, and Distributors to maximize business opportunities.
- Conduct market research and monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and customer requirements to identify new growth opportunities.
- Develop and implement sales action plans, budgets, and marketing initiatives while monitoring progress against agreed objectives.
- Introduce DEIF products and solutions to prospective customers through product presentations, demonstrations, and technical trials, securing product approvals and long-term business agreements.
- Proactively generate new business through customer visits, networking, and cold calling activities.
- Deliver product seminars, technical training sessions, demonstrations, and customer workshops to strengthen market engagement.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales opportunities, quotations, and visits within the CRM system.
- Work closely with Operations, Service & Support, and Product Management teams to ensure excellent customer experience and successful project execution.
- Provide regular sales forecasts, market intelligence, and business performance reports to management.
- Travel extensively within the assigned territory
- Ensure compliance with DEIF's Quality Management System, commercial policies, and Global Safety Policy.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
- 5–8 years of experience in technical sales, business development, or account management, with at least 3 years as a Sales Account Manager in a multinational organization, preferably within the electrical, industrial automation, power generation, or energy sectors.
- Experience in international or export sales of technical products and solutions is an advantage.
- Strong technical understanding with the ability to identify customer needs and translate them into practical, value-added solutions.
- Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets and driving profitable business growth.
- Experience in managing the complete sales cycle—from prospecting and lead generation through negotiation and successful order closure.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and profitability management.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Experience working with CRM systems and sales reporting tools.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
