Job Description
The AGM – Sales (Cables), Regional Sales Head – North, is responsible for driving sustainable revenue growth, market penetration, and profitability of the cables business across the Northern region (Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab & , Rajasthan,). The role holds regional P&L ownership and is accountable for delivering business targets through effective execution of sales strategies, robust project tracking, channel expansion, and strategic key account management, while strengthening engagement with EPCs, utilities, industrial customers, OEMs, and distribution partners to achieve market leadership and profitable growth.
1. Sales Strategy & Execution
- Develop and implement regional sales strategies for the cables business to achieve revenue, margin, and market share targets.
- Drive project-led sales growth through strong pipeline creation, project tracking, and conversion across key sectors.
- Ensure effective forecasting, order inflow management, and execution excellence.
2. Project Sales & Key Account Management
- Lead end-to-end project sales lifecycle—from lead generation, specification, bidding, negotiation to order closure.
- Build and manage strategic relationships with EPC contractors, utilities, infrastructure developers, industrial clients, and OEMs.
- Drive pre-qualification, vendor approvals, and product specifications with consultants and project authorities.
3. Regional P&L Management
- Own and deliver regional P&L performance, ensuring revenue growth, margin optimization, and cost control.
- Monitor project profitability, pricing discipline, and commercial terms to ensure sustainable business outcomes.
4. Channel & Distribution Management
- Build and strengthen a robust distributor and dealer ecosystem to support business growth.
- Ensure optimal coverage, inventory availability, and secondary liquidation efficiency.
- Monitor and improve distributor ROI, working capital utilization, and performance metrics.
5. EPC & Project Sales Management
- Drive EPC and project sales growth by building strong relationships with contractors, consultants, developers, utilities, and institutional clients, while managing key accounts.
- Develop and track a robust project pipeline, ensuring specification inclusion, vendor approvals, tender participation, and effective conversion of opportunities.
- Ensure seamless project execution and financial control through cross-functional coordination, timely dispatch, and close monitoring of profitability, collections, and receivables.
6. Project Pipeline & Market Development
- Establish a strong project pipeline tracking system across government, private, and industrial projects.
- Identify new opportunities in sectors like power transmission & distribution, renewable energy, infrastructure, railways, and industrial expansion.
- Expand presence across emerging markets in Tier 2/Tier 3 industrial clusters.
5. Team Leadership
- Lead and develop a team of Regional/Area Sales Managers and Project Sales Engineers.
- Drive a performance-driven culture with structured reviews, capability building, and target accountability.
6. Sales MIS & Governance
- Track project pipeline, order book, execution status, collections, and receivables.
- Ensure strong governance on contract compliance, credit policies, and risk management.
Experience and Qualification
Engineering degree (preferably Electrical); MBA/Postgraduate qualification preferred
15–20 years of experience in sales, with a strong focus on cables/project sales/B2B segments
Proven track record of handling regional sales responsibility and delivering business growth targets in infrastructure, power, industrial, or EPC domains
Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of the cables industry, power infrastructure, and electrical products market, with a focus on regional dynamics
- Proven expertise in B2B project sales, key account management, and regional business development
- Sound financial acumen with understanding of project margins, pricing strategies, and cost drivers
- Strong execution focus with ability to translate strategy into on-ground project wins and revenue growth
- Effective negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills across EPCs, utilities, consultants, and channel partners
- Data-driven mindset with strong pipeline management, forecasting, and sales analytics capabilities Ability to lead and develop regionally distributed sales teams and drive performance culture High level of integrity, resilience, and customer-centric approach
