We are looking for a highly driven and intellectually curious Community & Ecosystem Manager to lead our engagement across Reddit, Discord, GitHub Discussions, Hacker News, LinkedIn, Common Room, and related developer and startup communities.

This is not a traditional social media management role.

This is not a customer support position.

This role sits at the intersection of community building, talent discovery, employer branding, developer relations, communications, and ecosystem development.

You will help us identify exceptional technical and non-technical talent, build credibility within influential communities, communicate our vision, and create an ecosystem of people who want to contribute to meaningful technology rather than simply participate in another online group.

Primary Responsibilities

Reddit Community Strategy & Engagement (Primary Function)

Reddit will be one of the most important platforms under your ownership.

You Will:

• Identify and engage with high-value subreddits relevant to software engineering, startups, AI, gaming, developer tooling, infrastructure, advertising technology, open source, and entrepreneurship.
• Build authentic participation strategies that create credibility and trust.
• Develop organic engagement programs rather than promotional campaigns.
• Create discussion initiatives, AMAs, educational content, and thought leadership programs.
• Monitor industry conversations and identify emerging trends, talent, and opportunities.
• Discover exceptional contributors and community leaders who align with our mission.
• Build measurable engagement frameworks focused on quality interactions rather than vanity metrics.
• Establish Reddit as a talent discovery and ecosystem intelligence channel.

Discord Community Management

• Design and operate our Discord ecosystem.
• Build channels, progression systems, moderation frameworks, and engagement programs.
• Create meaningful experiences for developers, creators, students, and professionals.
• Organize discussions, events, workshops, office hours, AMAs, and community challenges.
• Foster healthy, collaborative, and productive conversations.
• Build long-term member retention and participation systems.
  
  

Developer Community Development

Manage And Engage Communities Across:

• GitHub Discussions
• Hacker News
• Developer Forums
• Technical Discord Servers
• Open Source Communities
• University Technical Communities

• Creating developer-focused engagement programs.
• Building relationships with contributors and maintainers.
• Supporting technical hiring initiatives.
• Encouraging participation in product feedback and ecosystem development.

Talent Discovery & Community Recruiting

Help build a pipeline of exceptional talent through communities rather than traditional recruitment channels.

You Will:

• Discover technical and non-technical professionals through community engagement.
• Engage university, startup, creator, and developer ecosystems.
• Build relationships with individuals demonstrating curiosity, consistency, and strong execution capability.
• Support hiring teams through community-driven sourcing initiatives.
• Create pathways for community members to become contributors, advocates, applicants, and future employees.
