Quantitative Investment Fellow
Actively Reviewing the ApplicationsFoxholm Financial
Job Description
Foxholm Financial offers a 12-week unpaid educational fellowship designed for students looking to bridge the gap between financial theory and data science while earning a professional certification (Python PCAP or AWS Cloud Practitioner). Our investment process is systematic and data-driven; you will work alongside a registered investment adviser to build and test analytical model concepts in a hands-on learning environment.
Unlike firms that outsource investment management to third-party providers, Foxholm builds its strategies in-house. This role provides direct access to the "engine room" of an advisory firm, offering visibility into how buy/sell decisions are made, how risk is monitored, and how model portfolios are constructed.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Data Analysis: Explore Python scripting (Pandas/NumPy) for sample portfolio drift analysis.
- Visualization: Create interactive dashboards using Tableau Public.
- Cloud Infrastructure: Document AWS S3/EC2 basics for financial data and map data pipelines from custodian to reporting.
- Reporting: Design proof-of-concept performance report templates.
- Professional Development: Study for and earn a professional certification (Python PCAP or AWS Cloud Practitioner).
WHAT YOU’LL GET
- Credential Scholarship: Foxholm covers the full exam cost and provides guided 1-on-1 study sessions for either the Python Institute PCAP or AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification.
- Mentorship & References: Weekly 1-on-1 sessions with the firm President and a personalized reference letter detailing your specific technical skills.
- Career Portfolio: Development of a GitHub repository or Tableau Public profile to showcase your work to future employers.
- CFP® Board Experience: Earn 180 hours toward the CFP® Standard Pathway experience requirement (Indirect Support).
- Insider Access: "Access Person" status under SEC rules, granting visibility into trading activity and compliance operations.
REQUIREMENTS
- Education: Current enrollment in a 4-year Georgia university with Junior or Senior standing (60+ credit hours by start date).
- Credit: Must have an academic credit arrangement with your university.
- Work Style: Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Technical Setup: Access to a Mac, Linux, or PC.
- Ideal Majors: Finance, CIS, Data Science, MIS, Computer Science, or Financial Technology.
TIMELINE
- Applications Open: February 15, 2026.
- Application Deadline: April 15, 2026.
- Selection Announced: May 1, 2026.
- Fellowship Term: May 18 to August 7, 2026.
