QA Tester - ETL/ Data Testing

Job Description: Role: QA Tester - ETL/ Data Testing

Hybrid: 2 days in office weekly
Location: Toronto, ON
Primary Skills:
1. ETL , Data testing
2. Strong SQL expertise
3. Create and execute UI test cases, exploratory tests, and regression tests.

Responsibilities:
ETL/Data Testing
Analyze and understand source-to-target mappings, data models, and ETL workflows.
Validate data extraction, transformation, and loading across databases, data lakes, and downstream systems.
Write complex SQL queries to perform data reconciliation, profiling, and validation.
Perform schema validation, data integrity checks, and transformation logic verification.
Test batch processes, schedules, and data pipelines (Informatica, DataStage, SSIS, Azure/AWS pipelines—depending on stack).
Validate error handling, exceptions, and audit logs in ETL flows.

Front-End / UI Testing
Test responsive web applications for functionality, usability, accessibility, and performance.
Validate API integrations and front-end to back-end data consistency.
Perform cross-browser and cross-device testing.
Create and execute UI test cases, exploratory tests, and regression tests.
Work with browser dev tools to inspect network calls, console errors, and DOM events.

QA Responsibilities
Create detailed test plans, test cases, and traceability matrices.
Collaborate with developers, BAs, architects, and product owners.
Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and UAT support.
Log, track, and validate defects in Jira/Azure DevOps.
Ensure compliance with data quality, security, and regulatory standards (e.g., PII handling).
